One potential venue for a joint meeting could be Sun Microsystems London Customer Centre near London Bridge station.  They are very keen to support this kind of venture, because they want to be seen as more than just a hardware vendor.

On a London note, MoMoLondon have held a couple of events at Sun's offices and they have been well attended. I also think the Dana Centre is a good setup. The main area is more like a cafe and there are breakout areas where smaller groups can go off and discuss things.

Toby and I spoke about an 'un-panel' where the panel are there to provoke/inspire discussion in the group rather than discuss a questions from the audience. I think this should work well, get the panel to introduce themselves and then we have some pre-chosen topics (democratically picked) that they discuss briefly and put to the audience. The idea is not to make it too organised. I like the way the discussion topics in Wiki Wednesdays work, I would say something not too far from that approach would be right.

I would like to keep this quite light in a sense that we dont uber-organise this event (disregarding my list above). I would like to see if you get the right venue and pick some interesting people that the audience will come along and have an interesting discussion and network. Its all an experiment/prototype idea anyway! :)
